The goal
Reveal every cell that does not contain a mine. Each number tells you how many mines are in its eight surrounding cells. Empty cells open their surrounding region.
One click, one clue. Clear the mystery.
Getting your game ready…
Reveal every cell that does not contain a mine. Each number tells you how many mines are in its eight surrounding cells. Empty cells open their surrounding region.
The first revealed cell and its neighbors are always safe. Right-click to flag, or enable Flag on mobile. With Flag off, press an open number to clear its neighbors when its neighboring flag count matches.
If a 1 has its mine correctly flagged, the other neighbors are safe. The shortcut checks the number of flags, not whether they are correct: a wrong flag can reveal a mine. Win by opening every safe cell.
No. Mines are placed after your first click, excluding that cell and its neighbors. Later positions can sometimes require choosing between possibilities.

A number does not point to one particular mine. It counts the mines around it. Information emerges when you compare clues.
